Successful ventures need more than capital they require trusted guidance, strong governance, and local partnerships to succeed.
AKA provides strategic and advisory services spanning market entry, corporate structuring, and responsible financing. With decades of experience working with investors, governments, and development finance institutions, we help design and guide ventures with the governance and oversight needed for long-term success.
Through a strategic relationship with MANA Advisory, a GCC-based consultancy founded by Mohammad Al Mazrooei, AKA brings additional expertise in business planning, feasibility studies, investment advisory, and real estate consulting. With over 25 years of leadership experience and having managed more than USD $1bn in projects spanning real estate, hospitality, automotive, and technology, Mohammad and MANA Advisory are well positioned to complement AKA’s global reach and support in building ventures across diverse industries.
Together, we have helped overseas businesses establish a footprint in the UAE and continue to provide board-level guidance to two growing companies. At KHA Marine FZCO in Dubai Maritime City, AKA structured an investment of USD $3m into a shipbuilding, repair, and management business now expanding into barge building and leasing. At Spectra Ridge Holdings Limited in DIFC, a real estate development and construction company, we secured USD $25m in funding and continue to advise the shareholders and act as directors as the initial project moves forward.

Less than 50% of the world has reliable access to the internet, leaving them disconnected.
AKA designs and delivers the digital infrastructure that connects communities to opportunity. For us, reliable internet is more than a commodity it is a foundation for growth. Backed by over 30 years of telecom leadership, our team has built and scaled leading networks across emerging and post-conflict markets, including Afghanistan and Tajikistan’s leading mobile operations with close to 10 million customers.
Building on this track record, AKA launched its flagship initiative, Connecting Communities Africa (CCA), to deliver integrated, last-mile access for essential digital applications and services to empower communities. The first step was the acquisition of TransAfrica Communications (TrAC), a Rwandan ISP with over a decade of experience and strong government and community relationships.
Rwanda now serves as CCA’s regional headquarters, with TrAC as the enabler to drive reliable, high-quality connectivity in the country.
TrAC is moving beyond a traditional ISP business, entering new market segments, and rolling out community smart hubs in underserved and rural areas that align with national priorities and are rooted in community needs. We are also investing up to $10 million over the next three years to strengthen the business and ensure that through our network of solutions connectivity becomes the digital foundation for growth.
fintech
35% of adults are without access to financial services, leaving them excluded from the tools they need to save, borrow, and transact securely.
With experience building Afghanistan’s first mobile money platform, M-Paisa, and rolling out digital credit services at Roshan, our team has been at the forefront of financial inclusion in emerging markets. We established Aspire, our FinTech company, and have partnered with technology provider EmagineNet one of America’s top three check-cashing companies with $6.5 billion in annual turnover. Fully funded and set to launch across Africa with its first foray into Rwanda, Aspire is designed to deliver fair and reliable financial tools to those previously excluded.
Aspire will initially focus on micro and short-term loans giving workers the means to increase productivity and strengthen their businesses and income. At the same time, Aspire makes handsets more accessible, ensuring people can get online and make use of digital services. By combining finance with the tools to use it, Aspire aims to build financial stability, economic inclusion, and continued growth.
agritech
Agriculture is the backbone of the African economy, attracting substantial investment each year to support productivity and the growth of smallholder farmers.
Despite this, the sector remains characterized by structural inefficiencies that limit the income of farmers. Inadequate infrastructure, high post-harvest losses, and weak market linkages constrain farmers to reach their full potential.
Our agriculture vertical is building solutions to address these challenges.
We operate an integrated, market-led platform that connects farmers, aggregation, processing, and end markets into a single coordinated value chain, ensuring that the value farmers create is captured locally and flows through the entire system. We are beginning in Rwanda, where up to 40% of production is lost each year, before it ever reaches a market, crops go to waste, farmers lose income and at the same time nearly one in three children under five experiences chronic malnutrition.
Our nutritional foods business is the founding execution of that model and a direct response to that reality. Rather than letting underutilized crops go to waste, we purchase them directly from local farmers and transform them into a shelf-stable nutritional foods range designed specifically for children, with a formulation that meaningfully increases the nutrient profile available to them every day. Locally made in Rwanda, fully traceable, and built on a closed-loop platform where agriculture, manufacturing, and nutrition reinforce one another.
Accessible nutrition, rooted in local communities

edtech
Talent exists everywhere. Opportunity doesn’t. AKA’s EdTech vertical uses technology to bridge the gap, addressing the three pillars that most initiatives miss.
The curriculum, the connectivity to access it, and the human capacity to sustain it. Every school we work with in Rwanda is connected through TrAC, our local ISP partner, and through accredited teacher trainings, we build programs designed to outlast us.
We deliver this through Code.org, used by close to 100 million students and 2 million teachers in 45+ languages, and Head Start, whose curated catalogue spans 30,000+ pieces of content across six countries. Our sponsorship model opens the program to partners and individuals who want to contribute directly. Sponsorships go towards bootcamps, where students learn to code hands-on and teachers leave accredited and equipped to carry it forward, or towards Head Start access for one student, a classroom, or an entire school.
Our first bootcamp at Maranyundo Girls School in Nyamata saw 80% of students rate their experience 10/10.
~ “Thank you for opening our minds to the outside world of technology. Keep on the program and introduce it to more schools.”
In partnership with Connecting Communities, our education work will be anchored inside a network of community smart hubs, bringing digital learning into rural and semi-rural areas where we can help unlock the talent that already exists.
healthtech
AKA brings healthcare closer to underserved populations by using digital platforms that connect patients directly with doctors, specialists, and verified providers. Our founders’ experience in this field includes establishing telemedicine centres in Afghanistan that linked the French Medical Institute for Children and five regional hospitals to the Aga Khan University in Pakistan.
We will be launching new telemedicine centers across East Africa, designed to give patients in rural areas direct access to qualified doctors and specialists without the need to travel long distances. These centers will provide consultations, diagnostic support, and referrals through secure digital platforms, supported by local staff to ensure trust and continuity of care. By reducing the gap between patients and providers, the centers aim to improve health outcomes, cut costs for families, and strengthen confidence in healthcare systems where traditional access has been limited.
