Karim Khoja

A seasoned telecommunications pioneer and Chairman of AKA, Karim has over three decades of experience building and leading GSM companies across Europe, South Asia, and Africa. As founding CEO of Roshan in Afghanistan, he transformed a fragile post-conflict market into one of the country’s most successful enterprises, bringing connectivity to millions. Today, Karim provides the strategic vision for AKA’s growth and builds key partnerships with governments, international organizations, and development finance institutions to ensure every venture has the alliances it needs to succeed.

Altaf Ladak

Altaf is a global strategist and operator with leadership and operational experience in telecoms across the UK, US, France, and Afghanistan. Rising to CEO at Roshan, he guided the company through complex post-conflict challenges while creating jobs, empowering women, and advancing rural development. At AKA, Altaf applies his strength in building cross-sector strategies and working with the respective management teams to ensure operational excellence.

Amyn Samji

With roots in aerospace engineering, Amyn contributed to the design of Canada’s famed space robotics system before leading digital and fintech initiatives at Roshan, including M-Paisa, one of Afghanistan’s earliest mobile money platforms. Driven by entrepreneurial vision, Amyn is AKA’s innovator-in-chief, designing sustainable solutions that bring cutting-edge technology into the hands of digitally evolving communities.

Nashir Jiwani

Nash is a global entrepreneur and investor with over three decades of experience across Africa, Asia, and the Gulf. His career includes senior leadership roles at Diageo PLC and the creation of successful ventures in East Africa, Gulf and Southeast Asia, giving him deep expertise in business strategy, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and corporate structuring. At AKA, Nash leads M&A, corporate and financial structuring and leverages his networks to create the conditions for long-term success.
